Dirk Ehnts


On these pages you will find information about my work as an economist. I would like to introduce you to my teaching and research. You can also contact me.


I currently teach at Torrens University in Adelaide, Australia, where I lecture in the online MA program “The Economics of Sustainability". I also give lectures as an adjunct lecturer at Steinbeis University in Berlin. Having studied economics from 1997-2002 at the University of Göttingen and received a PhD in economics from the University of Oldenburg in 2009, I have more than a quarter of a century of experience in economics. You can see some of my books and papers on this website.

Among other institutions, I have worked as a visiting professor for Latin American macroeconomics at Free University Berlin, as a visiting professor for European economics at Flensburg University and as a guest lecturer for monetary economics at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. I have also worked briefly as a research assistant at the German Parliament. I was invited twice to the German Parliament's finance committee to give my expert opinion and are a standing member of the Verein für Socialpolitik's committee on the history of economic thought.

I am the book review editor at the International Journal of Pluralism and Economics Education (IJPEE) and speaker of the board at the NGO Samuel-Pufendorf-Gesellschaft für politische Ökonomie e.
